Dr Antonio Luis Cuesta Muñoz MD, PhD   

Dr Cuesta Muñoz is a specialist in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition. Currently Dr Cuesta is the clinical and scientific director of the International Institute of Genetics of Diabetes (INIGEDIA). This Institute is focused on precision medicine in endocrine diseases and diabetes, as well as on genetic studies and counselling.

Dr Cuesta is also a Professor at the Danish Diabetes Academy and a Visiting Professor of the Pannun Institute at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark.

Dr Cuesta is an internationally recognised scientist in the field of genetics of diabetes. On several occasions, he has been invited to give lectures by the American Diabetes Association at its official scientific meetings. His work has been published in very prestigious clinical and scientific journals such The New England Journal of Medicine, Diabetes, Diabetologia and Molecular Endocrinology, among others. Dr Cuesta carried out his medical studies at the University of Sevilla Medical School (Sevilla, Spain), and his PhD at Alcala de Henares University (Madrid, Spain). Dr Cuesta started his professional and scientific career in the Diabetes Research Centre at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, USA.
